[orion-dev] Minimal orion setup for editing markdown with angular

Hi,

in the context of Eclipse Winery we are going to use Eclipse Orion to edit
markdown files. We were very fascinated by
http://planetorion.org/news/2014/07/orions-new-markdown-editor/ and are
trying to get it running in a minimal setup. We converted the minimal
example on the web page to Angular:
https://github.com/meyerpp/orion-codeedit-example/blob/master/src/app/app.component.ts

We searched the plugin documentation for a while, but could not find a way
to integrate the Markdown functionality. Do you think, this is easily
possible? We really want to stay within the Eclipse universe...

I think having a standalone markdown editor would be awesome. The Orion MD
editor is excellent, and making it easily consumable would likely lead to
significant consumption.

Thanks for your interest in the markdown editor! Unfortunately it's
currently written in a way that does not facilitate plugging it into
Orion's stand-alone editor. Non-trivial changes are needed to the Orion
codebase to make this possible. The next Orion release is coming up fairly
soon, so this will not change by then.

I've logged https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=521891 to capture
this requirement. If you're interested in investigating this and
potentially submitting a patch back then please say so in the bug and we
can provide some pointers.
